Cookies?
A cookie is a small file that website stores on your computer.
It helps the site remember information about your visit, which can be
used for analytics (like I do) and other important stuff. But some
websites (cough cough Facebook )can also use them to track you
across the web. Thankfully most modern browsers already block these
cookies by default, but if you want to be extra sure that no website
is tracking you, download the free and open-source web extension
uBlock Origin. That is
a general-purpose blocker with more advanced tools, like the power to
completely disable JavaScript.
And if you are extra
cautious about your privacy, use
TOR browser . Tor browser
anonymizes your internet activity by relaying it across many
volunteer-run servers (nodes), so nor the website nor the nodes know
who is accessing what. However, this extra privacy comes at the cost
of slower internet speed.
